Progressive Youth Group Woos Delegates for Osinbajo 2023

As the tempo of preparations towards the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention intensifies, Progressive Youth Group, an Osinbajo lobby group has kicked off its lobby of convention delegates.

“We are starring off on a very positive note with fruitful visits to the former governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Umar UTC Garba who is a frontline APC leader in the North-East geo-political zone and a member of the APC Board of Trustees, Dr. Christy Silas Tafida from Gombe state,” the group stated.

In a press statement issued by its National Coordinator, Comrade Babangida Malabu, the PYG emphasized its confidence that a vigorous pan-Nigeria support base will ensure the election of Prof Yemi Osinbajo as Nigeria’s next President in 2023.

“As part of strategic activities towards securing the APC presidential ticket for Prof. Osinbajo, the Progressive Youth Group (PYG) paid a very fruitful courtesy visit to a senior member of the APC BOT, Alh. Umar Garba (UTC), who was former Executive Governor of Taraba State. 

“While presenting details of PYG’s objectives towards the realization of a United and great Nigeria, objectives, the Convener of the group, Comrade Idris Jibril said that they have a strong resolve to ensure the emergence of credible and capable leaders across all levels of elective positions in 2023.

“With a clear focus towards ensuring that Prof. Osinbajo emerges as the APC presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, the group will not allow anything or anyone to compromise its objective of wooing delegates for Osinbajo.

“PYG also met Dr. Christy Silas Tafida, a leading figure and member of the APC BOT who urged PYG to sustain active participation in the nation’s political process, including the good initiative aimed at impacting coming presidential primaries.

“Stressing the vital roles that youths actively play in politics and the need for PYG to continue with good initiatives for nation-building, she advised them to make the campaign issue-based.

“Both APC leaders applauded PYG's objectives and encouraged them to continue with their self-chosen national assignment,” he stated.

The Progressive Youth Group is a group comprising young professionals drawn from all of the nation’s geopolitical zones, cutting across religious divides and ethnicity but bound by the sole objective of actualizing a Prof. Yemi Osinbajo Presidency in 2023.
